Grab N’ Go Event at the New Orleans VA (October 18th, 2024)

November 16, 2024

On a mission to serve those who’ve served us, the Disabled Veterans National Foundation (DVNF) recently hosted a heartwarming Grab N’ Go event at the New Orleans VA.

This impactful event was a day filled with support, gratitude, and generosity for our nation’s veterans. Thanks to the collaboration of dedicated volunteers and the incredible support of the American Dental Association Foundation, DVNF distributed critical resources to veterans who needed them most.

What We Delivered
At the heart of the Grab N’ Go event were the essentials that can make a world of difference in a veteran’s daily life. Here’s what was distributed to the veterans who attended:

  • 500 Health & Comfort Kits packed with hygiene products and personal care essentials.
  • Gift cards to provide financial relief and support for basic needs.
  • Nutritious lunches to fuel the day and bring an added layer of care and compassion.
  • Access to critical resources to ensure veterans had connections to helpful services and support systems.

These items aren’t just “things” — they are symbols of care, compassion, and acknowledgment of the sacrifices our veterans have made.

A Day of Connection and Gratitude
DVNF’s Grab N’ Go events are about more than just handing out supplies — they’re about connection, dignity, and respect. Each veteran who attended received direct support from DVNF staff, volunteers, and community partners, fostering a sense of community and shared gratitude.

One of the event’s highlights was seeing veterans walk away with more than just bags in their hands — they left with smiles, a sense of dignity, and a reminder that they are not alone.

A Special Thanks to Our Partners and Volunteers
None of this would have been possible without the tireless support of our volunteers and the generous backing of the American Dental Association Foundation. Their partnership made it possible for DVNF to prepare and distribute an incredible 500 Health & Comfort Kits and to provide additional support through gift cards, meals, and vital resources.

This event is a shining example of what’s possible when compassionate individuals, community partners, and organizations like DVNF come together for a shared mission — to honor and support veterans.

What’s Next for DVNF?
The success of this Grab N’ Go event is just one of the many ways DVNF is working to meet the evolving needs of veterans. From Health & Comfort Kits to programs like the Veterans Food Assistance Program (VFAP), Grants to Provide Stability (GPS), and Homeless to Housing support, DVNF is committed to providing real, tangible support to veterans facing life’s toughest challenges.
