Did you know that homelessness among veterans increased by 7.4% last year?
Our Homeless To Housing (H2H) program aims to change this trend
The Homeless to Housing (H2H) program provides crucial financial assistance to Veterans transitioning from homelessness to permanent housing. By partnering with transitional houses, homeless shelters, and other non-profit housing programs, the Disabled Veterans National Foundation (DVNF) aims to support Veterans who have made significant strides to overcome homelessness.
We help disabled and at-risk Veterans rebuild their lives
H2H offers financial aid of up to $2,000 to disabled and at-risk Veterans. This assistance is designed to help cover essential costs related to securing permanent housing, ensuring Veterans have a stable and supportive environment as they rebuild their lives.
Veteran Homelessness By The Numbers
15,507 experienced unsheltered homelessness; an increase of 14.3% from 2022.
20,067 experienced sheltered homelessness; an increase of 2.6% from 2022.
The data shows that Unsheltered Veterans account for approximately 80% of the total increase in homelessness.
Unsheltered Veterans take up residence in places not usually intended or suited for people to live. This can include parks, benches, sidewalks, underpasses, and abandoned city buildings.
Sheltered veterans generally live in a homeless shelter, transitional housing program, or places that offer real residential amenities such as a bed, food, and hygiene supplies.
Veterans are not the only group affected by the rise in homelessness. The general homeless population increased by 12% in the United States in 2022.
Program Eligibility
